Modeling the spread of antibiotics and AMR/ARGs in soil

  18 May 2024

Antibiotic resistance is a global issue where anthropogenic chemicals in ecosystems, such as antibiotics used in treating diseases and animal farming, introduce toxic chemicals into the soil. Mathematical models can help predict antibiotic fate, transport, and spread, and address uncertainties in control strategies. This chapter discusses the role of mathematical modeling in studying antibiotic degradation in soil and its dynamics.
